The Fullarton Medical Practice
This is a long established Practice in the centre of Ayr dating back to 1885. From 1961, the practice operated at premises in Fullarton Street. We moved to our new premises at 40 Dalblair Road, Ayr in October 2002.
Practice Team
Our clinical team has GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Community Link Practitioners. All of whom offer face to face appointments, and or telephone consultations or advice. More information on their role and when they are available can be found under the section Our Services.

Practice Nursing Staff
As well as general nursing duties, practice nurses are available by appointment for general health and dietary advice, well person clinics and blood tests. They have a particular expertise in family planning and are closely involved in running travel immunisation clinics, diabetic clinics and asthma/respiratory clinics with the doctors.
Sarah Fitzpatrick
Sarah is our lead practice nurse and provides support, mentoring and ongoing training to the nursing team. She specialises in Chronic Disease Management.
Shannon Jones

Shannon joined us in 2018 and is training as a Primary Care Nurse. Shannon is a fully qualified staff nurse who is continuing her training in general practice.
Gillian McDonald

Gillian is a key member of the nursing team carrying our a range of tasks e.g. ear syringing, phlebotomy and basic health checks.
Outside of work Gillian’s 2 young sons keep her busy.

Community Clinical Staff
Our community colleagues are not based in the practice but work from various clinic and hospital sites . We maintain good communication links with our district nursing and health visitor colleagues and are in regular contact with them.

Please note: The practice is closed from 1.00pm – 1.45pm Every Wednesday for staff training.
