Colin Haddow

MbChB, MRCGP, DRCOG)

Born in Ayrshire, I returned to the area as a GP in 2008 having
trained in Glasgow. I have a particular interest in diabetes, musculo-skeletal medicine and occupational medicine. I look forward to getting involved in GP-training at The Fullarton Medical Practice.

Away from work I play golf at Prestwick GC and Western Gailes GC. I am less adept, but no less keen, at skiing, snow-boarding and running.

Home life revolves around my 2 daughters, both of whom have contributed to my prematurely grey hair!

I work all day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

Dr Joanne L Ashcroft

MB ChB (Glasgow 1988) MRCGP DFFP

My specialist interests are family planning, sexual health, and menopause management.
I usually work Monday all day, Tuesday morning, Wednesday all day, Thursday morning and all day Friday.

Dr Alan A J White

MB ChB (Glasgow 1983) MRCGP DRCOG

I joined the practice in May 1988 when I replaced Jimmy Walker.  In the 1990s we acquired additional premises at 18 Fullarton Street due to the  expansion of staffing and various contract changes affecting  General Practice.  In October 2002 we moved to our current purpose-built premises.  During this time  I have continued my interest in Chest diseases, Dermatology and Minor surgery and been the lead Trainer since 1995.

General Practice has changed dramatically in the time that I have been in Ayr and bears no resemblance to the computer-free, paper-heavy system of the 1980s.

Away from work I continue to try to improve my golf and tennis but not always successfully.

I usually work all day Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Dr Stephen Dunne

MBChB MRCGP DCH DRCOG

Born and raised in Ayr Dr Dunne graduated from Dundee University in 2008. After graduation he completed foundation training and then spent a year working in an emergency department in Australia. He completed GP training within Fullarton Medical Practice and returned to the practice as a GP partner in 2016.

He keeps a keen interest in paediatrics, COPD, asthma and men’s health. He offers selected joint injections and some minor surgical procedures. Dr Dunne is an accredited trainer for the GP training programme.

When not at work his 4 kids keep him very busy!

I have a special interest in learning disabilities and carers and am a volunteer with the Ayr Branch of Enable supporting the drama group. In my spare time I enjoy theatre and concerts and eating out especially as I am a terrible cook!

Dr Naomi Brown

MB ChB (Glasgow 2009)

I graduated from Glasgow University in 2009.  After completing Foundation training in Glasgow, I moved to Ayrshire to start GP training with the Fullarton medical Practice in 2013.

In March 2019 and 3 babies later, I (finally) completed my training and became a salaried GP with the practice.

In addition to GP training I gained  experience in Palliative Care at the Ayrshire Hospice and I continue to have an interest in this area.
