Leavers

Sandra Wylie our fabulous Practice Nurse retires in March. Sandra has worked in Fullarton Practice (old and new) since 1998. As well as being an excellent nurse, Sandra is also a much loved colleague, mentor and friend. We will miss her greatly. We know that patients will miss her kindness, patience and care. Sandra is looking forward to long walks in the summer sunshine, gardening, golfing trips and spending time with her many friends and family. We wish her all the best for a long and happy retirement.

Joanne’s successor Karen Gunn who has been a Practice Manager in Ayrshire for a number of years will take up her post in April. We know that she will enjoy working in Fullarton and wish her well in her new post.

Mental Health Practitioners & Community Links Practitioner

We now have two MHPs in the practice Johanna Marr and Steven McCormack and a new CLP Averil McGarey. Please ask the receptionist for more information about their role.

Practice Appointment System

We are still offering the range of appointments we did pre-Covid – this includes face to face and telephone consultations. Our clinical team has expanded over the years and appointments are available with advanced nurse practitioners, practice nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, mental health pracititioners and community links workers. To help us to book the right appointment with the right person reception and admin staff will ask for information about your condition and symptoms.

Joanne Gibson, Practice Manager is also retiring from full time work. Joanne who has been with the practice for 17 years is looking forward to having more free time indulging in her hobbies and spending time with friends and colleagues old and new.

Lindsay Warner and Chiara Merli from our admin reception team have also both secured new jobs and are looking forward to taking up their posts.

Ordering your medication

You can order your repeat medication prescription by phone, on line or at reception. Whichever option you choose please remember to allow us 48 hours to process your request.

Patients often ask why a medication that they have been taking for a long time is not listed on their repeat prescription list. Some medications (which we refer to as acutes or specials) can only be issued by a member of the clinical team. This allows the clinician to check medication issues and compliance.

Clinicians may decline an acute or special medication request for a variety of reasons for example they may need to arrange blood tests or want to arrange a medication review. When this happens patients may not always know until they contact the practice to chase up their medication. We fully understand the inconvenience this causes and we have listened and acted on patient feedback and will now contact you to let you know that a clinician has declined your prescription and the reason for doing so. Ideally we will contact you by text.

Updating your Medical Records

It is very important that your personal details are up to date so please let the receptionist know if you have changed your address or your telephone number.
Thank you.
